Training 2009
 The final Reds
Sarasota exhibition schedule opens on Feb. 25 on the road at the
new Charlotte Sports Complex as they take on the AL Champs the
Tampa Bay Rays. The Reds make a total of three trips to Port
Charlotte in 2009 with two additional matches on March 18 and 28
respectively as well as 4 meetings with the Yankees, also 2 home
stands against the NY pinstripes. Baseball is a Sarasota tradition dating back to 1924, when
the New York Giants arrived. They were followed by the Red Sox and then the White Sox.
Now the Cincinnati Reds take the field in 2009 for the last time
in Sarasota, with games at Sarasota's
Ed Smith Stadium. This may be your last chance to see major
league Spring Training played in Sarasota unless the city can
make a deal with another Major League team.
Ticket prices for Reds 2008 spring
training games were $14 for box seats, $12 for reserved seats and
$7 for general admission. Certain games this spring will be
considered "premium games" such as Yankees, Red Sox and
others. Prices are $2.00 more for Premium
Games. Prices are expected to stay level for 2009 but no
official word yet on Reds Grapefruit League tix.
